Das Xerox Research Centre Europe (XRCE) in Grenoble, Frankreich wird Xerox im Projekt vertreten. Xerox Research Centre Europe strebt danach, Dokumenten-Technologien zu entwickeln und zu gestalten, die die Produktivität und Kreativität am Arbeitsplatz verbessern. Es verfolgt die Vision einer Dokumenten-Technologie, bei der Sprache, physischer Standort und Medien kein Hindernis zur effektiven Nutzung darstellen. Sein besonderes Ziel ist es, ein Zentrum für das Verständnis von Dokumenten-Prozessen und für die Erfindung von Technologien, die sie unterstützen, zu werden. XRCE beschäftigt ca.100 Forscher und Entwickler, aus mehr als 10 verschiedenen Nationalitäten.

Key staff

Jean-Marc Andreoli joined Xerox Research Centre Europe in September 1993, and currently holds the position of lab chief scientist and acting manager of the Machine Learning for Optimisation and Services area. In the past, he worked for two years with the IBM assembly plant in Montpellier, France, then for five years at the ECRC (European Computer Industry Research Centre) in Munich, Germany, first as a PhD student and then as a full employee. Between 1999 and 2005, he worked part time at the CNRS, as "Directeur de Recherche Associé" at the IML (Institut de Mathématiques de Luminy) in Marseille, France. He holds an engineering degree from Ecole Centrale de Paris (1985), a "Thèse de doctorat" (PhD) from Université de Paris 6 (1990) and a "Thèse d'Habilitation" (Habilitation) from Université de Grenoble (2001).

Cedric Archambeau is full time researcher in statistical machine learning at Xerox Research Centre Europe. He received an Electrical Engineering degree and the PhD in Applied Sciences from the Université catholique de Louvain, respectively in 2001 and 2005. He was a member of both the Machine Learning Group and the Crypto Group. Since then, he was involved in the European project OPTIVIP, SCARD and PinView as well as the UK funded project VISDEM. At present, he holds an Honorary Senior Research Associate position in the Centre for Computational Statistics and Machine Learning at University College London and is an active participant of the PASCAL2 network of excellence. In October 2009, he joined the Services and Innovation Laboratory at Xerox Research Centre Europe, where his research is directed towards the development of advanced recommender systems, personalised content creation, text generation and automated knowledge extraction.

Guillaume Bouchard (Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/gbouchar) is full time researcher in data mining in machine learning at Xerox Research Centre Europe (XRCE). He received in 2001 an Engineering degree in applied mathematics from Institut National de Sciences Appliquées and a Master of Mathematics from the Université de Rouen. He joined XRCE in 2004 after receiving a PhD in Applied Mathematics from Institut National de Recherche en Informatique et en Automatique (INRIA) and Université Joseph Fourier, where he participated to the European project LAVA. Since then, his work is mainly focused on the oretical analysis of pattern recognition algorithms and the development of statistical models for user profiling and causal models of failures in electronic devices. His current research interest focuses on artificial intelligence techniques to support content creation in knowledge management systems. He is also an active member of the PASCAL2 network of excellence since its creation.
